Celebrating 15 Years of Impact: RMHC Golf Classic Sets New Record in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD – On Saturday, September 6, 2025, the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Curaçao Foundation proudly hosted the 15th edition of the RMHC Golf Classic at the Old Quarry Golf Course, located at Santa Barbara Plantation. With the generous support of key sponsors including Maduro & Curiel’s Bank, KLM, Sandals, Old Quarry, Café Barista, Tyson Foods Venequip, Remax BonBini, Sahara Casino and Staat Notariaat, this milestone fundraising event achieved remarkable success.

A total of 40 teams of four players competed in this year’s tournament. The tournament kicked off with registration at the beautifully designed Café Barista OQ Lounge, set up at Hole 18, where players and guests enjoyed a delicious breakfast and lunch. DJ Beetz brought fantastic energy to the VIP Lounge, creating the perfect atmosphere to start the day. During the tournament, players also enjoyed a variety of engaging hole events sponsored by Coca-Cola, The Wine Factory, Heineken, KLM, Salty Seafood & Kaffino, McDonald’s, Lovers, Sandals, Jeep, and Baoase.

The RMHC Curaçao Foundation reflects with pride on a tournament that combined friendly competition with a strong sense of community. Over the years, the RMHC Golf Classic has grown into the island’s largest and most beloved golf event, reinforcing its prominent role in Curaçao’s golf sport community. The Award Ceremony Night was highlighted by touching and inspiring speeches from Quinten Fraai, CEO & President of Maduro & Curiel’s Bank, and Jeffrey Speelman, General Manager of Sandals. To mark the 15th anniversary of the event, Rhyddm Band and DJ Leanne created a vibrant and festive atmosphere, bringing the celebration to a joyful close.

In honor of the 15-year anniversary, prizes were awarded to the 15 best teams. The championship title and overall net winner went to Team Guardian with Marten O’Niel, Rob Vermeulen, Darryl Rosheuvel, and Marro Pietersz, who won an exclusive trip to Amsterdam, including a VIP experience at the 2026 Dutch Open. Team The Juniors consisting of our young golf talents, Camilo Quast, Kenzo Koenders, Collin da Costa Gomez and Oliver Verbrugge, secured second place, recognized for their strong performance throughout the tournament.

The Curaçao community has once again shown its deep commitment and generosity towards Ronald McDonald House Charities mission; providing essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare.

RMHC Curaçao extends heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors and the 75 volunteers who contributed to the success of this event, as well as to Jane Weststrate and the amazing team at Old Quarry Golf Course. Their dedication makes it possible for the foundation to continue caring for sick children and their families, including access to the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) and other vital RMHC programs.
