WILLEMSTAD – On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Ronald McDonald House Curaçao proudly hosted the 16th edition of its Golf Classic fundraising event at the Old Quarry Golf Course at Santa Barbara Plantation. Thanks to the generous support of main sponsors Maduro & Curiel’s Bank, KLM, Sandals, Old Quarry, Sahara Casino, Venequip Curaçao, and Tyson Foods, this year’s event was once again a great success.
A total of 44 teams, each made up of four players, took part in this year’s tournament. The day began with registration and breakfast provided by Café Barista, setting the tone for a fun and memorable day on the course.
Throughout the tournament, players also took part in a variety of fun and engaging on-course activities and events sponsored by Coca-Cola, The Wine Factory, Atlas Risk Solutions, Heineken, KLM, Salty Seafood & Kafino, McDonald’s, and Baoase. These activities added an extra element of excitement and entertainment to the competition.
Ronald McDonald House Curaçao looks back with pride on a tournament that brought together friendly competition, fun, and a strong sense of community. Over the years, the Golf Classic has grown into the island’s largest and most beloved golf event, further strengthening its role within Curaçao’s golf community.
The evening continued with the Award Ceremony, featuring touching and inspiring speeches by Quinten Fraai, President & CEO of Maduro and Curiel’s Bank, Kimberly Fecunda Janga, Director of Sales at Sandals Resort and Dr. Gulshan Melwani, board member of Ronald McDonald House Curaçao.
This year’s championship net winner was Team Sadekya, consisting of Rudsel Lucas, Harry Canters, Rudlin Martina, and Maikyson Bernadina. The team won an exclusive trip to Amsterdam, including a VIP experience at the 2026 Dutch Open.
The gross winner was Team A1 Travel with players Herbert Con, Francis Con, Rick Adriaans and William Mau- Asam.
Once again, the Curaçao community demonstrated its deep commitment to and generosity toward the mission of Ronald McDonald House Curaçao: providing essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
Ronald McDonald House Curaçao extends its heartfelt thanks to all sponsors, the 50 dedicated volunteers who helped make the event possible, and the team at Old Quarry Golf Course. Their continued support and dedication allow the foundation to keep caring for sick children and their families, including through access to the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) and other vital programs.
