Willemstad / The Netherlands – In 2026, Curaçao will proudly participate for the first time in HomeSport Events, the annual sporting challenge organized by Ronald McDonald Children’s Fund Netherlands. This participation is made possible through a special and meaningful collaboration between the Netherlands and Curaçao, for which the Ronald McDonald Curaçao team is deeply grateful.
On 27 & 28 June 2026, Team Hart for Curaçao – One Family will take on the challenge of cycling, running and/or walking hundreds of kilometers across the Netherlands within 24 hours. The team aims to raise at least €7,500 to support families with a sick or care-intensive child staying at Ronald McDonald Houses, Living Rooms and holiday homes.
Grateful for this collaboration
HomeSport Events has been organized for fourteen years by Ronald McDonald Children’s Fund Netherlands. Curaçao’s participation highlights the strong connection and shared values between the two countries: care, family and solidarity. “We are extremely thankful for the trust and support from the Netherlands that allows Curaçao to be part of this wonderful initiative,” says Team Hart for Curaçao.
A call to Curaçaoans and the Dutch community
The team calls on all Curaçaoans, both on the island and in the Netherlands, to support this initiative. At the same time, the Dutch community is warmly invited to participate by donating, supporting the team or joining HomeSport Events themselves. “This is a beautiful opportunity to show that when it comes to caring for children and their families, borders do not matter. Together, we can truly make a difference.”
Moving together for families with a sick child
HomeSport Events is a unique 24-hour relay challenge, pushing teams to their limits day and night. Every kilometer directly contributes to providing families with a place close to their sick child or a moment of rest and recovery.
